An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Nursing Associate to join our Integrated Sexual health Team.
Sexual and Reproductive health community is a busy service who see up to 90 patients daily The role of the Nursing Associate is to assist and support the multidisciplinary Team ensuring optimal patient care. The nursing associate must have passion or experience in sexual health who will be responsible for delivering high standard of care including nurse led services .
Main duties of the job
Maintain high standards of care
To be competent in agreed clinical skills relevant to this area of work eg microscopy venepuncture, asymptomatic screening
Advise patients health promotion in relation to STI's HIV prevention
Assist in setting up of clinics maintaining equipment and ordering. Oversee operational issues stock maintenance both clinics
To arrange prescription of treatments and safely administer/supply these as prescribed and agreed within NMC Standards following completion of medication competency test as per trust policy.
Chaperoning and assisting clinicians in complex specialist clinics and with examination and procedures for male and female patients
To carry out point of care testing for HIV, other STIs, urinalysis and pregnancy testing, managing negative results and referring patients to senior clinician if results are reactive or abnormal.
To observe clinical policies, protocols and working guidelines.
