Our client, a leading provider in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Birmingham on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing and overseeing all aspects of quantity surveying duties on rail projects
Preparing, negotiating, and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
Ensuring that all commercial aspects are managed in line with the required standards and procedures
Conducting risk assessments and providing advice on contractual claims
Preparing and evaluating cost estimates and final accounts
Liaising with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery
Monitoring and controlling project budgets and expenditures
Providing regular financial reports and updates to project stakeholders
Job Requirements:
Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the rail industry
Strong understanding of quantity surveying principles and practices
Ability to prepare and analyse cost estimates and budgets
Proficiency in using relevant software and tools
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines
Relevant surveying degree or equivalent qualification
