About the Role: As Information Transfer Design Manager, you will be a key player in the Engineering & Technical team within the Civil Works Programme. This function is responsible for defining the design and technical requirements, leading the delivery of complex civil designs, and ensuring integration with construction and offsite infrastructure. Reporting to the Technical Engineering Manager, you will oversee the detailing process across multiple scope areas, ensuring the effective transfer of technical information from earlier phases of construction, managing change control, and driving technical assurance. You'll collaborate closely with Design Managers, Engineering Leads, and the wider supply chain to ensure clarity of technical ownership and that the highest standards of design integration and constructability are achieved. Key Responsibilities: Define and validate technical requirements and specifications, engaging with internal technical authorities and ensuring approval. Manage and drive resolution of technical open points and design changes, ensuring alignment with design delivery schedules. Oversee technical governance processes and maintain configuration control. Support technical assurance activities, including digital assurance, to ensure the project's acceptance criteria are met. Ensure the delivery of co-ordinated detailing deliverables within a 3D environment. Manage technical risks and assess cost and schedule impacts alongside the Engineering & Technical Project Manager. Provide technical input for project communications, risk assessments, and stakeholder engagement. Lead technical co-ordination across various programmes and civil works packages. Ensure compliance with design management processes and the Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations. Work closely with delivery teams to align design progress with contract schedules and the Integrated Work Schedule (IWS). About You: Essential Skills & Experience: Significant experience in complex, multi-disciplinary design management across concept, detailed design and construction phases. Strong background in civil engineering structures such as reinforced concrete and structural steel, or in external works like drainage, utilities, earthworks, and site logistics. Proven technical leadership capability and ability to lead teams and suppliers in a collaborative delivery environment. Confident in managing and integrating multi-discipline teams. Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to engage technically and commercially at all levels. Strong communicator, able to influence across project teams, delivery partners and external bodies. Desirable: Experience within the nuclear sector, particularly relating to safety-related civil structures and systems. Qualifications: Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent). Chartered Engineer (MICE or MIStructE), or working towards chartered status. Why Apply?
