Job Description:
Our client, a leading strategy consultancy, is seeking a director to join and play a leading role, focusing on deal strategy within the media industry as part of the wider TMT sector. The role includes work on growth strategy, cost and operational strategy (including economic profitability analysis), and enterprise-wide transformation. You will be the second hire of a newly established team planning to grow to fifteen staff in the next 2-3 years, and you will help shape this growth.
Role and responsibilities:
* Take a senior leadership role with the team, clients, and in the industry.
* Maintain existing client relationships, especially within the M&A community in corporates and PE houses, to reinforce credibility and generate project opportunities. Extensive experience in M&A projects like Commercial DD, M&A Strategy, and Value Creation is critical.
* Manage client relationships and act as a key contact.
* Anticipate, understand, and articulate client requirements before and during projects.
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills in reports, presentations, and verbal interactions.
* Lead the presentation of findings to senior clients and challenge their and colleagues’ thinking when necessary.
* Design and manage large, complex projects, ensuring deliverables meet client needs and serve as the primary liaison.
* Guide the team to produce client-ready deliverables with minimal review.
* Review complex analyses for credibility and accuracy.
* Identify and lead go-to-market, thought leadership, and marketing opportunities.
* Seek leadership opportunities, manage internal processes, and inspire junior team members.
* Ensure adherence to risk management frameworks and review key judgments.
Person requirements:
* Significant experience in a leading strategy consultancy, Big 4, or industry Corporate Development.
* Strong understanding of the Media sectors value drivers and future evolution.
* Experience managing mid-sized and large projects, including designing work plans and managing teams.
* Extensive recent M&A transaction experience in the Media sector.
* Proven ability to generate sales opportunities and maintain client relationships.
* Experience in marketing, proposals, and pricing for large consulting projects.
* Ability to develop new business initiatives from conception to execution.
* Effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
* Track record of leadership among junior staff.
* Experience with internal responsibilities like team management and technical tools.

* Capacity to evaluate complex challenges and provide actionable insights.
* Skill in analyzing large data sets and guiding teams to focus on key issues.

* Additional language skills are a plus.
