Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Basingstoke Office / Remote (UK-wide travel required)
Salary: £50,000–£70,000, Additional £6k Car Allowance & Bonus’
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the electronics manufacturing sector for a commercially astute and proactive Business Development Manager. This pivotal role is responsible for driving business growth, developing strategic customer relationships, and expanding sales opportunities across high-reliability markets.
This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated and experienced sales professional with a background in PCB or component manufacturing, looking to take full ownership of a key sales function within a forward-thinking and innovative business.
Key Responsibilities for the Business Development Manager:
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow the customer base and explore new market opportunities.
Build and manage strong, long-term client relationships in sectors such as Medical, Aerospace, Defence, Industrial, and Automotive.
Serve as the primary representative for clients, understanding their technical requirements and proposing tailored PCB/component solutions.
Lead pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and detailed proposal development.
Attend trade shows, networking events, and client meetings across the UK.
Maintain accurate activity records using CRM tools and report on pipeline, performance, and market insights.
Drive proactive lead generation and business development initiatives to meet or exceed revenue targets.
Essential experience as an Business Development Manager:
Proven experience in sales, business development, or account management within manufacturing.
Solid understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and electronic component applications.
Strong commercial acumen with a track record of closing sales and achieving targets.
Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to interpret and communicate technical requirements between clients and internal teams.
Proficiency with CRM systems and sales tools.Desirable experience as an Business Development Manager:
Experience managing multiple client accounts and/or small-scale project delivery.
Prior experience in a PCB manufacturing environment in either a sales or technical capacity.
