Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Colchester
Salary: up to £40,000
Prime Appointments is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join a well-established industrial manufacturing company in Colchester. This role involves working closely with Production and Manufacturing teams to improve processes, support daily operations, and drive continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create and update Standard Operating Procedures
* Support and guide production staff to ensure smooth operations
* Quickly resolve production issues and perform root cause analysis
* Recommend and justify capital investments with clear ROI
* Lead and support Lean manufacturing and quality improvement initiatives
* Assist with New Product Introductions to ensure manufacturability
* Manage tooling and fixture procurement and replacements.
* Help maintain equipment and improve TPM practice
* Plan and coordinate factory layout changes with relevant teams
* Track department performance metrics and support EHS compliance.
Ideal Candidate:
* Mechanical engineering qualification (HND or degree preferred)
* Familiarity with assembly, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
* Strong knowledge of Lean tools
* Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
