Hours: 48 Salary: £32,073.60 to £32,073.60 Annum (Salary based on a 48-hour contract.) The role consists of shift work and weekends on a rota basis. Do you need more flexibility ? Overview of the role The role of the Team Leader is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, whilst making sure you always provide the highest level of care and lead by example. You will also liaise with the seniors in the home reporting any matters of concern. You must have experience in the care sector and have the willingness to learn and expand on your previous knowledge. Not only will you make a huge difference to people’s lives, but you’ll be able to enjoy days out, trips away and join in with many more activities, all of which ensures the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives. Key duties Taking the lead with supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment Supervising a team and assisting with the overall management of the home Liaising with managers and other shift leaders Executing any tasks allocated in a professional, timely and accurate manner Supervising and sharing mealtimes with residents to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining Assisting residents in their daily activities whether this be in or away from the home Using your initiative when supporting residents during their activities and with day-to-day tasks Personal attributes Being patient, reliable, flexible, a team player and a good communicator are key characteristics of a successful Team Leader. Redlands House is a large, detached home in Eastleigh, close to the town centre, five miles from Southampton. The home supports up to eight men and women of various ages with severe learning disabilities, autism and associated complex needs. People at the home have different levels of communication: some use Makaton, and others communicate with sounds, facial and body expressions and using objects of reference. Redlands has its own Activity Coordinator who creates a structured activity programme to enable ongoing personal development through a range of individual and group activities. There is transport for visits to leisure, recreational and educational activities in the community. The residents enjoy going to local fun fairs and zoos, and on boat rides around the Solent. SL000
