WeDoData are working with a secondary school & sixth form in Surrey, based in beautiful green surroundings spanning 260 acres, who are driven by technology - proven by the multiple large scale IT projects currently being undertaken.
They are now looking for an experienced and passionate Senior IT Engineer to join their IT team of 5, to support the delivery of these projects, alongside the day-to-day running of the schools IT function.
The role
You will work closely alongside the schools Head of IT, IT Operations Manager, IT Engineer and IT Technicians, providing technical support for a range of systems and projects including cloud (the schools is currently in the process of migrating from on prem systems to cloud), networking, telephony, workstations and more.
You will have provide end user support to staff and students, and ensure security and compliance requirements are met. Using your networking knowledge you will assist with switches, firewalls, WiFi, AP's, DHCP etc, and administration of Group Policy, Active Directory, google admin console and 365 admin.
Requirements
Working in IT can be a very rewarding challenge, but it can be a different beast from the private and coorporate IT world - therefore experience working in the education sector is extremely desirable for this role, alongside previous prove experience working in a 2nd/3rd line IT role, with strong networking knowledge and experience.
Due to the schools location you will also need a car and driving license.
