HR Assistant
to play a key role in nurturing a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing a competent and consistent HR service across the Trust, supporting daily operations and contributing to the overall success of the HR function.
* Delivering a confidential and responsive HR administration service.
* Supporting with recruitment, onboarding, contract processing, and employee records.
* Acting as the first point of contact for HR-related queries, offering accurate and timely advice to staff, leaders, and external stakeholders.
* Providing regular on-site support across Academies and the Central Team, helping ensure HR presence and consistency at a local level.
* Working closely with the HR Business Partner and wider HR team on project work, policy updates, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Providing the HR Advisors with regular reports to support case management.
* Ensuring the HRIS and other related systems are updated with all relevant personnel information.
* Tracking and monitoring staff absence, ensuring return-to-work and informal meetings are carried out promptly.
Skills and Experience
* Educated to GCSE level A*–C or equivalent in English and Maths.
* Hold or working towards CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Human Resources Practice or a Diploma in Business Administration (Level 2) or IT Skills and Office Administration (Level 2).
* Experience working in HR or administration (experience in a school or education setting a plus).
* Good knowledge of IT systems and experience using HR systems (or willing to learn).
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Fully proficient in typing and accurate note-taking.
* Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
* Flexible, enthusiastic, and committed to supporting staff and students alike.

Salary:
£28,163 – £29,572.
Location:
Smith's Wood Academy, Birmingham, with hybrid working available.
