Job Description
You will be trained to work across the site logistics department, including the yard, raw materials warehouse, and palletised finished goods areas, as part of the logistics team on a specified shift. Your responsibilities include adhering to safe working practices, liaising with shift Team Leaders, and ensuring smooth operations in loading/unloading raw materials and finished goods, or operating/autonomously maintaining autopalletisation lines.
Responsibilities
* Conduct full pre-use inspections (PUI) of shunt motors, report and arrange repairs for defects.
* Check trailer status for finished goods, raw materials, empties, WIP, holds, and damages; report defects.
* Coordinate with factory teams, security, and distribution centres for trailer movements.
* Manage external driver communications, safety, and timing.
* Receive and unload bulk deliveries, ensure safety and quality checks, and update systems accordingly.
* Coordinate potato intake and pallet supplier activities based on production needs.
* Manage fuel deliveries and oversee yard actions, including third-party deliveries and contractor movements.
* Perform site checks at shift end, communicate load statuses, and handle unrecognized stock issues.
* Conduct handovers, raise near misses, and participate in incident investigations.
* Load/unload trailers, control stock receipt, and operate autopalletisation lines.
* Maintain housekeeping standards, support stock counts, and ensure environmental compliance.
Qualifications
* Full, clean driving license.
* Experience with autopalletisation (advantageous but not essential).
* Flexible to work across different areas: yard, warehouse, despatch.
* Self-motivated and results-focused.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Committed to safe working practices and high-quality standards.
* Proactive in problem-solving and continuous improvement.
