My client, a well-regarded educational setting in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, is looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in helping a student with special educational needs thrive both academically and personally.

As an HLTA, you’ll be at the heart of creating a positive, inclusive, and empowering learning experience.

Working closely with teachers, support staff, and the student, you’ll help shape a nurturing environment where individual needs are understood, respected, and met with creativity and care.

HLTA Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality one‑to‑one support tailored to the student’s unique learning style and needs.
\t
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to design and implement personalised learning strategies that boost academic, social, and emotional development.
\t
Promote independence, confidence, and self-belief through positive reinforcement and thoughtful guidance.
\t
Support the student with daily routines, communication, organisation, and social interactions.
\t
Keep accurate records of progress, achievements, and concerns, ensuring clear communication with all relevant stakeholders.
\t
Engage in ongoing training and professional development to strengthen your expertise in SEN support.
\t
Be available to commute to Cambridge, Cambridgeshire on a full-time basis.

What We’re Looking For in a HLTA:

Proven experience supporting children with special educational needs in a school environment.
\t
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving abilities.
\t
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to meeting diverse needs.
\t
Confidence using assistive technology and educational tools.
\t
A strong commitment to inclusion, equality, and diversity.
\t
Relevant qualifications in education, SEN support, or a related field.
\t
Must be able to commute to Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

This full-time role offers a competitive hourly rate depending on experience and qualifications. More importantly, it offers the chance to make a lasting, meaningful impact on a young person’s life.

If you’re a motivated HLTA with a genuine passion for supporting students with SEN, we’d love to hear from you. Join our client’s team and help create a learning environment where every child can shine.

Our Commitment to Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities

At Inspire EHC and our partner school in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people is paramount.

All applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check and provide at least two independent references.
