We’re looking for a practical, safety-conscious and skilled Estates Water Hygiene Technician to join our Estates and Facilities team at Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.
In this varied role, you’ll help maintain essential water systems and mechanical services across NHS sites. You’ll also carry out routine water hygiene tasks such as temperature monitoring and tank inspections to help prevent Legionella risk. You’ll be part of a supportive team ensuring our facilities remain safe, compliant, and well-maintained for patients, staff, and visitors.
Our sites span Sussex, offering flexibility in your base location across several sites within the county.
Duties
As part of the Estates team, you’ll perform planned and reactive maintenance on plumbing and mechanical systems. Key duties include:
* Diagnosing and repairing faults on plumbing and mechanical equipment
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
* Completing water hygiene tasks such as temperature checks, tank inspections, and TMV servicing
* Recording all work and maintaining accurate statutory records
* Liaising with service users for access and work confirmation
* Using the Trust’s CAFM system
* Supporting and advising apprentices and semi-skilled staff
* Attending training and following health and safety procedures
* Participating in the on-call rota (additional pay applies)
