As a General Teaching Assistant (General TA), you will work closely with teachers to provide academic and behavioural support to students across the curriculum. You may support individuals on a 1:1 basis, lead small intervention groups, or assist within the classroom to help maintain a positive and effective learning environment. Your Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant (TA): Assist the teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities Provide tailored support to individual students or small groups Promote positive behaviour and uphold school policies Support with classroom management and organisation Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and engagement Encourage student participation and boost confidence Support pupils with reading, writing, and numeracy tasks Help with lunchtime, break duties, or extracurricular activities when required Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and encouraging school atmosphere General TA Candidate Requirements: Experience working with children or young people in any setting, mostly in schools as a Teaching Assistant, Classroom Assistant or similar, is desirable. A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE, NVQ Level 2/3) in Teaching Assistant or Childcare is desirable but not essential A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Education, Science, Psychology or a similar field is desirable but not essential.
