Why this job matters
The role works closely with the Senior Manager of Transformation Governance, the Transformation Assurance team, Group colleagues and unit transformation teams to govern BT’s transformation, proactively mitigating risks and working collaboratively on interventions to ultimately improve the transformation performance.
Key elements of the role include:
Managing the ExCo governance framework
1. Support the flawless and timely preparation, agendas and coordination of transformation governance, to enable the preparation of the CEO and Chief S&C Officer ahead of transformation sessions.
2. Maintain a live roadmap of transformation topics that should be taken to ExCo for discussion, based on key decision points or inter-dependencies to support acceleration of transformation.
3. Prepare a monthly performance summary for transformation, taking inputs from key transformation stakeholders to celebrate progress or highlight any areas of concern. Clearly articulate where decisions or interventions require ExCo attention.
4. Manage the actions from ExCo forums, to ensure answers on key questions have been provided, and input received in timely manner to ensure ExCo have the right information to support transformation programmes.
Monitoring Transformation Portfolio Risks
5. Manage the transformation risk framework, refreshing bi-annually to ensure appetite to risk, measures and controls enable effective control of the transformation portfolio
6. Proactively identify risks and work with stakeholders on mitigations, through existing governance forums and stakeholder relationships
7. Monitor performance against appetite threshold, highlighting to Transformation Director, Governance & Assurance where outside of appetite.
Managing the Group KPI framework
8. Set up & manage the process to seamlessly monitor they key indicators of delivery of the BT strategy, which include financial, commercial, delivery and customers measures.
9. Lead the target setting process for Strategy & Change, working closely with colleagues across Group Strategy, Group Planning and unit stakeholders.
10. Produce ExCo and Board level reporting and generate insights on the ‘so what’.
11. Work with colleagues in Group planning to automate data capture from source and dashboarding, so that governance is zero touch and work with unit stakeholders to that performance management is fully aligned.
Driving interventions to improve transformation performance
12. Leverage insights on performance from the governance framework, and elsewhere to identity where interventions are needed to uplift and accelerate performance.
13. Shape interventions, gaining stakeholder buy-in and driving to completion. Assessing the impact and show demonstrable performance improvement.
The role holder may also be called upon to support with Transformation Assurance reviews, particularly where reviews need specialist governance or risk expertise.
Key Skills and Experience required
The ideal candidate will have had experience working within the transformation field within large – ideally international - FTSE 100 companies, or within professional services/consultancy. We will consider a range of candidates, even if they do not meet all the criteria listed.

Experience
22. Experience of working on transformation programmes in multiple industries, in particular on transformations that need to deliver top and bottom line growth
23. Knowledge of project and programme lifecycles, especially agile delivery.
24. Engaging at an Executive level (preferred).
25. Developing and optimising governance frameworks (preferred).
26. Developing and managing KPI frameworks (preferred).
27. Knowledge of the technology and telco sectors.
