Principal FPGA Design Engineer (Contract)
Contract: 6 months outside IR35
Travel: Occasional UK travel
We're looking for a Principal FPGA Design Engineer to take ownership of complex FPGA architectures and deliver innovative solutions for advanced systems. If you thrive on technical leadership and hands-on design, this is your opportunity to make an impact.
What You'll Do
* Define FPGA architecture from top-level system requirements
* Design, implement, and debug VHDL-based FPGA hardware
* Develop verification test benches and vectors
* Produce clear technical documentation and specifications
* Lead multiple projects, manage resources, and report progress
* Mentor junior engineers and provide technical training
* Liaise with customers and suppliers on firmware matters
* Contribute to high-level product definition and design reviews
What You Bring
* 10+ years' FPGA design experience
* Expertise in VHDL and FPGA verification
* Proven ability to deliver complex designs on time and within budget
* Experience with multi-FPGA systems
* Strong communication skills
* Background in radar or DSP applications
