Your new company A well-established UK manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Quality & Environmental Manager to join its operations team. The business operates within a regulated production environment and places a strong emphasis on operational excellence, compliance and continuous improvement. Your new role As Quality & Environmental Manager, you will have full responsibility for maintaining and developing quality and environmental management systems across the manufacturing operation. You will act as the key contact for audits, certifications and regulatory compliance, while working closely with production teams to embed best practice on the shop floor. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong presence within the operational environment and the ability to influence at all levels of the business. With approximately 50% of the role being spent on the production floor, working directly with operational teams. Key responsibilities include: Managing day-to-day quality control and environmental compliance activities Leading and developing a small team of quality inspectors Owning and improving the internal audit programme Managing external audits, certifications and regulatory inspections Investigating non-conformances and leading corrective and preventive actions Acting as the voice of the customer on quality matters Driving continuous improvement initiatives using data and root cause analysis Delivering quality and environmental training across the business Supporting wider HSE initiatives and cultural improvements What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience managing quality and environmental systems within a manufacturing or production environment. You will also demonstrate: Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Hands-on experience in quality and environmental compliance Experience preparing for and leading external audits Confidence leading teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels A practical, proactive and solution-focused mindset Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Qualifications and experience: HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Engineering, Quality or a related discipline 2-4 years' experience in a Quality, Environmental or QHSE leadership role Six Sigma Green Belt (desirable but not essential) What you'll get in return A competitive salary, dependent on experience 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Pension scheme Performance-related bonus The opportunity to shape and develop a newly created role within a stable manufacturing business What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
