Role Purpose
The Practice Lead is responsible for maintaining high standards of practice and culture across all FABRIC homes. This role supports and develops Home Managers, leads on referrals, acts as the company TRM lead (training provided), and ensures agreed systems are followed consistently.
The Practice Lead is accountable for the delivery of responsibilities held by the Home Managers they line manage. The focus of the role is practical leadership, quality oversight and strong support for teams so FABRIC Kids receive safe, consistent and trauma-responsive care every day.
The Practice Lead shares an In Case of Emergency rota with the Managing Director. This does not require being within a certain distance of homes or attendance at any homes. This covers absolute emergencies only.
Role in the Organisational System
· Ensures agreed organisational systems are implemented consistently
· Coaches and supports Home Managers in their leadership
· Provides quality oversight and early identification of concerns
· Leads on referrals and placement matching
· Acts as TRM lead for the organisation
· Shares learning between homes and senior leadership
· Keeps practice and culture aligned with FABRIC values
Core Responsibilities
· Complete weekly snapshot 1:1s and QA sessions with Home Managers
· Review weekly key impact indicators ( otherwise known as KPIs)
· Complete monthly full 1:1 supervision with Home Managers
· Lead all referral and placement decisions
· Act as organisational lead for the Trauma Recovery Model
· Lead development areas for Stella (Kid Management System)
· Deliver induction and refresher training
· Monitor practice standards across homes
· Support team development and probation processes
Decision-Making Authority and Accountability
· Makes operational decisions relating to practice quality, referrals and training
· Leads cross-home quality assurance and improvement work
· Escalates business, financial and structural decisions to senior leadership
· Ensures agreed organisational systems are followed consistently
· Acts early on risks that could impact FABRIC Kids, teams or homes
Essential Experience and Skills
* Minimum 5 years' experience working with teenagers and minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisory role within social care
* Strong understanding and practical application of trauma-responsive approaches, including child development, attachment, trauma and brain development
* Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams while maintaining high standards of care and practice across services
* Ability to consistently demonstrate FABRIC's values in action: delivering an outstanding service, passion for the work, clear and compassionate communication, attention to detail, and conscious and courageous leadership
* Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and a full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience and Skills
* Advanced Trauma Recovery Model (TRM) training or willingness to complete
* Training in breakaway or conflict management
* Knowledge and training in supporting neurodiversity, including ADHD, ASD and ODD
Please note at present we have homes in Swansea & Neath and the successful candidate will have to visit the location of all of our FABRIC homes to discharge the duties of this role (mileage covered)
