As our Progress Coordinator, you will develop and manage the delivery of a high-quality, cost-effective support service to learners with physical disabilities, medical conditions, sensory impairments, mental health issues, learning difficulties, and other inclusive needs, to meet the College’s Strategic and Operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide a rich and stretching learning experience for learners with diverse support needs.
2. Act as the nominated person for referrals from professionals working with the young person, assess individual needs, including risk assessments, and disseminate information appropriately.
3. Lead a caseload of learners by assessing support needs, requesting high needs support funding, coordinating support packages to meet EHCP outcomes, and chairing EHCP annual reviews.
4. Manage a team of Learning Coaches to ensure learners receive high-quality support, enabling access to the college curriculum, facilities, and services, thereby improving achievement rates.
5. Support learners with mental health issues, physical disabilities, medical conditions, sensory impairments, learning difficulties, and other support needs, to enhance achievement rates.
6. Implement and develop quality systems, carry out and record assessments including risk assessments, and act as a key person for learners, including chairing EHCP reviews and contributing to Needs Assessments.
7. Maintain a good understanding of SEND reforms, equality and safeguarding legislation, and their implications for the Learning Support Service.
8. Manage support funding resources effectively, including high needs support.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven track record in supporting learners with diverse needs in a post-16 educational setting.
* Personal achievements in learning support and the disability field.
* Experience in coordinating and supervising a team.
* Experience of implementing and developing quality systems.
* Ability to carry out and record assessments, including risk assessments.
* Understanding of SEND reforms, legislation, and funding.
