Mechanical Assembler | Aerospace Organisation | Blackwood | Up to £28,000
MERITUS are working with a Wales based leading aerospace organisation, they're looking for experienced Mechanical Assemblers to join their Production team.
This role involves hands-on technical work across structural assemblies, bonded components, hydraulics, and pneumatics. You’ll be responsible for the disassembly, repair, assembly, and testing of aircraft components to the highest safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance with aviation regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
* Carry out the disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly, and testing of a wide range of aircraft components including metal, composite, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
* Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and repair documentation to complete work accurately and efficiently.
* Perform close tolerance structural work, including drilling, trimming, and fastener installation (rivets, hi-loks, jo-bolts).
* Ensure quality, compliance, and accurate documentation of all completed tasks in line with aviation regulations.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and adapt to varied shift patterns based on business needs.
Required Skills:
* Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.).
* Skilled with hand tools and workshop equipment including drills, rivet guns, grinders, and fastener installation tools.
* Strong ability to interpret technical data and follow written instructions with high attention to detail.
* Previous experience in aerospace, sheet metal, bonded structures, hydraulics, or mechanical assembly preferred.
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and computer literacy skills for accessing repair documents and production systems.
