Salary: £21,813.75 - 22,538.25 p.a. (Actual). £26,647.4 - 27,532.44 FTE

We are looking for 5 Learning Support Assistants to support Dorton College students from a range of different backgrounds with vision impairment, to effectively access their courses within the VI Centre of Excellence at Nescot, Epsom.
Some main duties of this role include:
·Support the delivery of learning programmes delivered at Nescot
·Promote the students independence and learning skills
·Safeguarding of students, understanding relevant protocol, reporting concerns promptly following the College procedures
·Produce adapted classroom resources, providing classroom support or supported study, for a range of courses
·Support the students to fully participate in a range of learning and leisure activities.
·Use ICT and other technologies, to adapt classroom resources in students’ preferred mediums.
The ideal candidate will have GCSE’s or equivalent level 2 qualification including English and Maths; excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to use ICT software including Work and Outlook; understanding and awareness of individual needs and ability to adapt or adjust; knowledge of how the support role promotes independent learning and personal development.
Previous experience of working with vision impaired young people is not required.
