Offer description

Established by the founders in 1978 and headquartered in Newmarket, Suffolk, Mr. Fothergill's Seeds Ltd is an award-winning international health and wellbeing, gardening, and horticulture business. We supply branded flower, vegetable, and herb seeds as well as young plants, bulbs, accessories, and tools.

Our purpose is "Helping Everyone Grow". Our energy and success come from our family of brands, the passion of customers and suppliers alike, and the deep domain expertise of staff and broader stakeholders, which all come together in support of our commitment to health, wellbeing, and sustainability.

The group owns four core brands - the eponymous Fothergill's brand along with Johnsons and DT Brown. These 3 seed focussed brands are complemented by Darlac, a tools brand with an expertise in cutting. This family of brands facilitates the group's core purpose, whether supporting a novice gardener, a highly experienced allotment holder or a floral garden maestro – our role is to help everyone enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of gardening.

We operate an omnichannel sales strategy across the core UK, Australian and New Zealand markets with the primary routes to market being garden centre chains and independents, DIY groups, variety discount chains and supermarkets. This is complemented by our DTC platforms and marketplace businesses. Exciting international expansion includes Europe, the USA and Canada

We are now seeking a Marketplace Manager to take full ownership of our Amazon and other marketplace channels. This is a high-impact, strategic role working closely with the Exec team to accelerate growth in one of our most important customer segments.

Core Responsibilities:

* P&L Ownership - Full responsibility for the delivery of the marketplace P&L (£net revenue, GM% and Net Contribution%) together with working capital goals across the UK marketplace channel. In addition, you will be responsible for global expansion
* Forecasting & Operations - Lead annual forecasting for Amazon, manage availability and accuracy, minimise chargebacks, and ensure operational excellence by executing the sales fundamental plan (distribution, pricing, promotion, availability, visibility) with excellence.
* Vendor Management - Manage annual vendor negotiations with Amazon, ensuring strong commercial outcomes for the brands.
* Conversion & Content Excellence - Drive conversion rate optimisation, SEO, product content and listing quality to maximise visibility and sales.
* Performance Media Management - Plan and execute at the target ROAS agreed paid media campaigns (Amazon Ads, Sponsored Products, DSP, etc.) to drive profitable growth.
* Strategic Growth - Support global expansion into new markets and platforms, with immediate focus on Europe.
* Stakeholder Management – Given the strategic priority of the channel, the role will require weekly reviews with the key members of the exec team.
* Reporting - Share weekly updates to key business stakeholders, conduct monthly and quarterly reviews with deep insights on actions to grow the business.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment with a strong performance culture. You will be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of an integrated global team, using your Amazon expertise to make a real impact on a key growth channel. You will combine a data-driven mindset with commercial intuition, embrace direct feedback, and set high standards for both yourself and your colleagues. This role is perfect for an ambitious, proactive professional ready to take ownership and drive meaningful growth beyond day-to-day management. You will also demonstrate:

* A minimum of 7 years commercial experience with 3+ years' current experience managing Amazon Vendor, with a strong track record of driving profitable growth.
* Past P&L ownership for marketplace channels.
* Strong knowledge of Amazon's platform, toolset, and advertising solutions.
* Experience in annual vendor negotiations and commercial discussions with Amazon.
* Demonstrable skill in paid performance media execution.
* Analytical mindset, data-driven and able to deliver actionable insights.
