Job Responsibilities
As the Family Solicitor, you will manage a varied caseload of private family law matters while also contributing to the continued growth of the Chester office.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing a broad caseload of private family law matters, including divorce, financial remedies, children matters and cohabitation disputes
* Delivering high standards of client care with empathy, professionalism and commercial awareness
* Supporting the development and growth of the family offering in Chester
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the lifecycle of each matter
* Handling files efficiently and in line with regulatory and internal compliance procedures
* Working closely with colleagues across the wider family team and other offices when required
* Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
* Taking an active part in networking, marketing and business development initiatives
* Helping to strengthen local connections and professional relationships in Chester and the surrounding area
Person Specification

To be successful in this Family Solicitor job, you will demonstrate:
* Qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales
* Experience in private family law, ideally from 1 to 5 years’ PQE, although candidates with greater experience who can support the growth of the Chester offering are encouraged to apply
* Strong technical knowledge across divorce, financial remedy, children matters and cohabitation disputes
* The ability to manage your own caseload with an appropriate level of supervision
* A compassionate and client‑focused approach to sensitive matters
* A proactive and commercially aware mindset

* Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues, which would be advantageous but is not essential
