Overview
Engineer Structures. Strengthen Nuclear Safety. NRL are recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to support the design of critical infrastructure on a major nuclear project. Based in Warrington, this is a 12-month initial contract (inside IR35) – ideal for experienced engineers ready to lead from the front in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
* Design key structural elements – portal frames, crane supports, RC rafts, walls, and slabs
* Guide 3D model development and 2D drawing production with AutoCAD and Revit
* Develop technical specifications and ensure design integrity through all phases
* Collaborate across disciplines to deliver safe, buildable solutions
* Fulfil the Designer role under CDM Regulations
Your Role
* Deliver and check structural designs to Eurocodes
* Lead by example and mentor junior team members
* Work confidently with steel and reinforced concrete
* Operate effectively in a multi-disciplinary, regulated environment
You’ll need to bring
* A degree in civil/structural engineering (Chartered status preferred)
* Strong experience in steel and RC design – including crane loading
* Proficiency in structural analysis tools (ideally Robot), Revit, and AutoCAD
* Knowledge of CDM and ideally some nuclear or industrial project experience
* Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a growing team
