New Directions Education are looking for Trainee Learning Support Assistants to support pupils across primary and SEN schools on the Wirral. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with care, support work, or childcare experience who are looking to begin a rewarding career in education.
We’d love to hear from you if you have experience in:
1. Care work, residential or community support
2. Working with children in youth groups, sports coaching, volunteering or nurseries
3. Supporting vulnerable individuals or those with additional needs
Role responsibilities:
4. Provide classroom support to pupils, helping them stay focused and engaged
5. Support children with additional learning or social needs
6. Work with teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support for individuals and groups
7. Create a positive, safe and nurturing environment

Job Specification
Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.
We specialise in recruiting Teaching Assistants (TA) who are qualified in the following;
11. NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant
12. NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
13. Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
14. CACHE Level 3 in Childcare & Education
15. BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing).
We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
25. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
26. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
27. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
28. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
29. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
