Experienced Construction Methods Engineer required for a long term contract role, working on behalf of our client, a global engineering contractor based in London. The successful candidate will join their exisiting team working on a new carbon capture project. Previous experience in construction methods and procedures within the oil & gas sector is essential for this role.
Job Description: The Construction Methods Engineer will ensure that all the Fabrication & Construction methods activities are properly carried out, ensuring the required level of HSE & Quality while meeting budget constraints.
Duties to include:
Develop methods procedures, supervise assigned draughtspeople and external subcontractors, ensuring that deliverables, equipment, facilities and services meet specified requirements
Ensure full compliance with international standards and challenge clients' requirements when required for the benefit of the project
Interface with the Construction methods department (draughters, engineers) and the Construction & Subcontracting department (e.g. construction managers & engineers), project teams, MWS & clients
During bid & early EPC phase, assist the Construction Methods Lead in preparing requests for quotation & technical bid evaluations for the activities pertaining to SME's domain of expertise
Participate in site visits, supervise complex operations on site (and manage them if required).
Participate to associated Risk Assessment sessions and definition of HSE plans
Organise and participate in design and constructability reviews to ensure fabrication &construction requirements (HSE & Productivity) are also integrated early into the design
Maintain filing system, document review and distribution as adequate. Ensure the relevant feedback and lessons learned are captured & recorded within the system
Act as constructability coordinator during bids and conceptual phases or construction engineer during Engineering Phase as required (e.g. in the definition of most appropriate erection methods, fabrication / construction sequences, layouts, pre-fabrication & modularisation strategies; carry out various feasibility studies, etc.)
Skills/experience required:
Previous experience with methods activities within the offshore Oil & Gas industry is essential.
Qualified to degree level (minimum of 2:1 in a relevant engineering discipline)
Technical skills: Construction procedures and methods knowledge/experience.

Rate: £60-65 p/h (Ltd rate - please contact us for further details)
Location: SW London. Full time office based preferred, although consideration may be given for up to 2 days hybrid working.
Some travel to site will be required.
