ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a leading role within the Major Contracts team. You’ll manage a diverse portfolio of projects varying in size, value and complexity. With responsibility across the full project life cycle, you’ll ensure commercial success while nurturing client trust and delivering high standards.
You’ll be responsible for:
1. Taking comprehensive client briefs to allow accurate pricing, including check measures
2. Leading the QS team with a collaborative, solution-focused approach
3. Taking off drawings and preparing accurate Bills of Quantities/Scopes of Work
4. Procuring and analysing subcontract and supplier packages
5. Managing procurement trackers and issuing contracts
6. Conducting regular site visits and maintaining client and internal stakeholder relationships
7. Capturing, agreeing and valuing variations
8. Producing valuations in line with contract terms
9. Monitoring cost performance, waste reduction, and identifying profit opportunities
10. Completing and presenting accurate CVRs in a timely manner
11. Overseeing projects from initial estimating through to final account, including effective contract and supply chain management
12. Reviewing and approving invoices
13. Liaising closely with internal departments throughout the project lifecycle
14. Delivering full project tenders when required
15. Maintaining up-to-date records via project portals and documentation systems
REQUIREMENTS
Degree or equivalent in Quantity SurveyingIdeally 10+ years’ experience in a construction-based Quantity Surveying role
Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills
High-level numeracy and strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and IT systems
Strong team player with an approachable, professional demeanour
Positive, proactive mindset aligned with collaborative company values
Full UK driving licence
