Registered Manager – Children’s Home (EBD)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
About Us
Following our successful Ofsted registration in May 2024, we had our first inspection in Q1 2025 and achieved a ‘Good’ rating. We are proud to have built a solid and values-led foundation. Our vision is to grow into one of the leading care providers in the region — with care quality, compassion, and long-term outcomes for children at the centre of everything we do.
Why Join Us?
We’re dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care and making a real difference in children’s lives. At West Valley Home, you’ll be part of a service that puts the wellbeing and development of young people at its heart. We aim to be recognised for quality over quantity, and we’re looking for a leader who shares that vision.
To reflect our belief that great care starts with great leadership, we also offer a performance-based bonus and revenue share scheme. This gives you the opportunity to grow with us and be meaningfully rewarded for the quality, impact, and ethical growth you help create.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Strategic Leadership
• Lead the daily operations of the home in line with The Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
• Set and uphold high standards of care and compliance, with a focus on achieving ‘Outstanding’ in future inspections.
• Oversee the implementation and continual improvement of policies, procedures, and quality assurance systems.
• Provide strategic direction in alignment with the home’s growth and development goals.
Child-Centred Care
• Ensure that each young person has a personalised care plan tailored to their emotional, developmental, and educational needs.
• Promote a nurturing, stable, and an environment that enables children to thrive.
• Regularly assess and review the effectiveness of care delivery, safeguarding, and support strategies.
• Recruit, lead, supervise, and motivate a multidisciplinary team of residential care staff.
• Set clear expectations, offer regular supervision, and foster a supportive, performance-focused team culture.
• Ensure all staff have up-to-date training plans and understand their roles in delivering safe, effective care.
Compliance & Safeguarding
• Take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection within the home.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Behaviour Management, Risk Assessment, and all relevant legislative frameworks.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with Ofsted and internal quality standards.
Financial & Business Development
• Manage budgets in line with financial planning, ensuring sustainable and cost-effective service delivery.
• Work closely with directors to identify responsible growth opportunities, including expansion and referrals.
• Contribute to business development, grant applications, and partnership building where appropriate.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce – Social Care Pathway (or equivalent).
• In the last 5 years, worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to the residential care of children.
• Worked at least one year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff.
• Strong working knowledge of Ofsted standards, safeguarding and care principles.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Key Skills & Attributes
• Strong leadership and team-building skills with a hands-on, proactive approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with children, staff, external agencies, and families.
• Organised, analytical, and confident in delivering inspections, audits, and quality reviews.
• Ambitious, emotionally intelligent, and driven to improve lives, not just run a service.
What We Offer
• Bonus: Generous performance-based bonus scheme, including the potential for revenue share linked to the growth and success of the home
• Flexible working arrangements
• Company pension scheme
• Direct involvement in strategic planning and home expansion
• Long-term career progression in a growing, quality-driven organization

Grow With Us
