Overview

12 months FTC. From £45,000 - £59,000 + Pension + PMI + ShareSave + 6.6 weeks holiday + Hybrid Working (2 days per week in the office). Southampton, Store Support Office. Join us as a Product Owner and you'll be a big part of this.

Role Purpose: Reporting to the Senior Product Manager for Store experience, the Product Owner for Productivity and Mobility will look after Workforce, Task management and Digital Colleague Application tools as well as the hardware our colleagues use to access these tools (e.g. handheld devices and headsets). You will play a pivotal role in transforming the colleague experience. Your mission is to empower our 20,000 store colleagues with mobile-first tools that support efficient operations, simplify tasks and increase value-adding activity time in our stores. In this role, you will define and drive the product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with customer needs and B&Q's strategy. Working closely across Retail and technology stakeholders (including Infrastructure and Hardware teams) you will shape new features / capabilities and manage the product backlog, balancing technical complexity with customer value, delivering high quality experiences through defining MVPs and acceptance criteria. You'll foster agile development, support innovation through market awareness and test-and-learn approaches, and champion improved ways of working across B&Q and Kingfisher.


Responsibilities

* Product Vision - Set a clear vision and roadmap for a product driven by an understanding of customer needs and business objectives; articulate what success looks like for the product.
* Defining New Demand - Collaborate with B&Q teams, KITS, 3rd parties and product teams to define new demand, ensuring it is well understood and its benefits are valued and aligned with customer insight.
* Backlog Management - Manage the backlog for the product, prioritising based on technical complexity versus business and customer value, with assumptions fed into team planning.
* Planning - Work with teams and delivery leads on planning product releases, ensuring stakeholders are engaged and cross-team dependencies are managed.
* Delivery - Define MVP and acceptance criteria from business and customer requirements; work with design, research and engineering to deliver high quality experiences aligned to product vision and goals.
* Drives Performance - Agree and track key metrics with stakeholders; monitor product performance and collaborate on improvements; manage A/B testing to inform data-driven decisions.
* Stakeholder Management - Collaborate with B&Q teams, KITS and 3rd parties across development activities and communicate outcomes and success.
* Agile Development Culture - Help create an agile culture within the business areas involved in technology projects.
* Continuous Improvement - Identify improvements to ways of working within B&Q and the Kingfisher group in developing and deploying technology.
* Innovation - Stay aware of market developments and drive innovation through a test-and-learn approach to exceed customer expectations.


What we need

* Retail technology experience
* Experience working with customer research and data to define new products and propositions for customers
* Experience working in Agile including backlog management
* Strong commercial acumen
* Experience with significant stakeholder management
* Strong communication skills
* Able to work with ambiguity and challenge
* Training or certification in Agile methodology (preferable)
