Are you passionate about inclusive education and committed to supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to join our Student Services team as Head of SEND and ALS. This pivotal role will shape and deliver our SEND strategy, ensuring outstanding provision and support for learners across the college.
About the Role
As Head of SEND and ALS, you will:
* Provide strategic leadership for SEND and inclusion across the college.
* Manage multiple budgets, including Additional Learning Support and High Needs funding.
* Oversee quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
* Collaborate with curriculum teams to embed inclusive teaching strategies.
* Liaise with local authorities, external agencies, and parents/carers to deliver exceptional learner support.
* Lead staff development through training and mentoring.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience:
* Extensive experience in post-16 education and SEND leadership.
* Proven track record of working with local authorities, external agencies, and Ofsted inspections.
* Strong knowledge of ALS funding methodology and audit requirements.
* Qualifications:
* Level 4 or above in Education, Health, or Social Care.
* English and Maths at Level 2 (or equivalent).
* Desirable: QTS or SEN-specific qualifications.
* Skills:
* Ability to manage budgets and lead strategic planning.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
