First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Forklift Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance and repairs to long/short term machines and customers owned equipment. Ensuring best practice with quality and professionalism are met at all times and to maintain customer satisfaction.
Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel however, all candidates will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for commissioning, maintenance and servicing of equipment and plant machinery.
2. Repair, maintain, and service forklift trucks
3. Repair or replace faulty parts
4. Request parts via PDA
5. Report to Service Co-ordinator for scheduled work
6. Maintain and develop relationships with Customers
7. Follow Service Team procedures.
8. Adhere to site Health & Safety requirements.
9. Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for effective performance of the role and attend training courses as required.
10. Adhere to Health & Safety responsibilities and procedures
11. The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.
Skills and Qualifications:
12. NVQ in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
13. Numeracy skills
14. Knowledge of Forklift trucks
15. Analytical with an eye for detail
16. Excellent communications skills
17. Professional and strong interpersonal skills
18. Able to work to tight deadlines
19. Flexible and willing to contribute by helping others
20. Courteous, friendly and tactful
Location: Chippenham
Salary: £30,000 – £34,500 + Overtime + Van
