Overview
The Faculty of Classics wishes to recruit a Part-Time Museum and Collections Assistant in the Museum of Classical Archaeology. This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 13:00 to 17:00. Duties include providing a front-of-house presence during open hours, assisting the Curator with exhibitions and the collection, operating the Museum's social media accounts, and assisting with promotional work.
About the Museum
The Museum of Classical Archaeology in Cambridge houses one of the largest plaster cast collections of ancient sculpture in the world. It is situated on the first floor of the Faculty of Classics in Sidgwick Avenue. It houses a large collection of ancient potsherds, original pots and bronzes, and a significant display of casts of Greek and Roman sculpture.
Responsibilities
* Provide front-of-house presence during open hours.
* Assist the Curator with exhibitions and with the management of the collection.
* Operate the Museum's social media accounts and assist with promotional work.
Location and Team
Part of the Museum team which includes a Director, a Curator, and a part-time Education and Outreach Coordinator, supported by graduate invigilators as required.
