Teaching Personnel is pleased to be supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Altrincham, who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. The school is looking for someone who is caring, proactive, and committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential.
About the Role
As a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils throughout their Key Stage 2 learning. You will provide targeted one-to-one support, assist small groups, and help deliver engaging lessons that build confidence and promote progress. Your role will be vital in supporting pupils’ academic development, independence, and overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Year 5 class teacher with planning, delivering, and assessing learning activities
* Provide focused 1:1 and small group support to reinforce key learning objectives
* Help create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
* Support pupils with a range of needs, including SEND and EAL
* Assist with classroom organisation and positive behaviour management
* Build strong, trusted relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
About You
* Experience working with primary-age children, ideally within a school setting
* A positive, enthusiastic attitude and a genuine passion for supporting learning
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to support children’s confidence and independence
* A teaching assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
