Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CPD Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive culinary experience, strong leadership qualities, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality and service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee food production, manage kitchen operations, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and presentation. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, developing menus, and maintaining a vibrant, efficient kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise the food preparation process, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes
* Manage daily kitchen operations, including overseeing food production and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
* Coordinate with team members to ensure timely delivery of meals in line with service requirements
* Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while adhering to organisational standards
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment centred on continuous improvement
* Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and organisational policies
* Oversee stock control, ordering supplies as needed to maintain optimal inventory levels
* Assist in the organisation of special events or catering services as required
* Maintain effective communication with front-of-house teams to support seamless service delivery
Qualifications
* Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
* Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
* Strong team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively
* Demonstrable culinary expertise with a focus on quality presentation and flavour development
* Experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
* Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a commercial kitchen
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
* Previous experience in serving or front-of-house operations is advantageous but not essential
* Formal culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred
