Senior Product Engineer/Designer (Advanced Machines) Concept → Production
Location: Sheffield, UK (On-site)

We are looking for a hands-on Product Engineer/Designer who thrives in fast-paced environments working with with a rapidly scaling advanced engineering business that is building a first of its kind precision/complex machine geared towards sustainability, speed and cost reduction.
This is NOT a styling or CAD only role.
It’s a deep engineering, machine building role where you’ll own complex systems from early concept through to production.
Prefer being hands on in the workshop, building, testing and iterating?
You’ll take ownership of complex mechanical systems and work across mechanical design, automation, and controls, helping drive the machine from early concept through prototype, validation, and into production.
* Design and develop complex mechanical systems, assemblies and full machines
* Integrate mechanical, electrical, and software control systems at a practical level
* Design experiments and validate feasibility quickly
* Support the transition from prototype into production
* Run experiments, diagnose failures and rapidly improve design
Key skills / Experience required:
* High skill level for research, design, testing/experimentation and hands-on engineering
* Comfortable working across mechanics, automation, and controls
* Proven experience taking a physical product or machine from concept to production
* Strong engineering fundamentals (materials, tolerances, precision design)
* Practical, experimental mindset, you test ideas, not just model them
* Clear communicator who can explain decisions and trade-offs
