Job Summary
The design, alteration, and amendment of the built environment of the UHB's properties includes the production of technical specifications, supervising and liaising with external contractors, consultants, and healthcare professionals/users in the completion of the works.
Inspecting, monitoring, and reporting on building work to ensure it meets contract specifications, legal standards, and quality requirements.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main Duties
* Develop sketch schemes from an agreed brief/schedule of accommodation, detailed design, and production of supporting documentation, including Planning, Building Control, and Fire Office approvals.
* Utilise various IT programmes, especially Revit, for the production of design drawings.
* Work as part of a team with other in-house design staff and external consultants in the execution of capital projects.
* Update existing and as‑fitted drawings on the UHB's IT database following the completion of various projects and archive or delete redundant information.
* Ensure that all design work and procurement of works are efficient, cost‑effective, and meet relevant statutory and mandatory standards, e.g. British Standards, WHTM’s, WHBN’s, Fire Safety Act, Building Control, etc.
* Act as main input on building issues and liaise with other professional colleagues (mechanical, electrical, IT, telecommunications, fire officer, etc.) to ensure successful completion of works.
