Joining our friendly Estates team, you will support the delivery of our maintenance and repair services within the Taunton Hospice. As a maintenance assistant, you will provide a confidential, customer focused maintenance service for the hospice properties and equipment, as planned and reactive maintenance requirements occur. Your day to day work will include: Reactive maintenance and completing repairs - e.g. replacing taps, repairs to furniture, unblocking sinks & drains, clearing gutters, adjusting fire doors, re-decoration Planned maintenance - e.g. portable appliance testing, emergency light tests, fire panel testing, replacing or cleaning filters within AHU / Air conditioning units, carry out disinfection and flushing of taps and showers Project work – assist the maintenance supervisor with enabling works for minor projects e.g. moving furniture, assisting with contractors visits, communicating progress with stakeholders What will you be good at? You will: Recent experience and knowledge of daily building maintenance tasks and ongoing repairs. A working knowledge of health and safety regulations, ensuring all areas are safe for patients, staff, and visitors. Ability to look up, extract and record electronic information A full driving licence and the ability to drive a company vehicle to any of our sites and locations across Somerset as required.
