Construction Manager – Lineside Civils
Permanent Construction Manager - Line-side Civils to join our dynamic Transpire team in Manchester. On-site working role, 37.5 hrs per week, with occasional weekends and nights.
Job Overview
Assisting the Project Manager / Works Manager in delivering allocated contracts safely and in compliance with legislation and Amey procedures. The role requires meeting contract specification and programme while supervising and delivering approved construction programmes to agreed resource and cost.
Responsibilities
* Plan project activities, defining methodology for complete execution, considering timelines, resources, and deliverables.
* Develop a detailed schedule outlining when each task should occur.
* Identify and manage potential risks that could affect project execution.
* Submit accurate site records to enable effective monitoring of programme and cost plans.
* Prepare, develop, and maintain project documentation.
* Ensure that toolbox talks, task briefs, permits, and COSS briefs are carried out for all work tasks prior to commencement of work.
* Order and receive site deliverables, and provide timely goods receipt notices.
* Monitor and supervise sub‑contractors, contract staff, and direct labour for allocated site activities.

What You’ll Bring
* Experience of railway construction management for Lineside Civils and successful team leadership.
* SMSTS (Supervisory Management training) with significant practical experience.
* PTS qualification.
* Strong interpersonal skills to influence and communicate effectively with site staff and project team.
* Computer literacy – Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
* Valid driving licence.
