Overview

Join to apply for the IT Support & Deployment Technician role at Lucid Computer Solutions Ltd.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Redditch office in Worcestershire. You’ll typically spend three days a week in the office, with the flexibility to work from home for the other two days — although some weeks you may be out and about visiting clients every day, depending on demand.

A big part of your time will be spent on-site with customers, setting up new computers, networking equipment, or providing hands-on IT support. You’ll also help prepare hardware back at the office and deliver remote support via phone, email, or remote access tools. No two days are the same, and you’ll be working closely with friendly businesses who value great service — just like we do.

To get around to our customers, you’ll need to have your own car with a valid MOT and business insurance (we’ll just need copies of those documents for our records). We’ll reimburse travel at 45p per mile.


Key Responsibilities

* Receive and manage hardware deliveries and installations
* Unbox, configure, and set up new computers ready for delivery to the customer
* Deploy and install hardware on client sites, including workstations and network devices
* Provide IT support and help triage support tickets
* Follow up on installation-related support queries and troubleshooting
* Install and renew antivirus software
* Perform server test restores and assist with backup recovery testing
* Handle basic server maintenance tasks, including hot-swap drive replacements
* Conduct pre-sales conversations to help specify hardware solutions for customers
* Maintain accurate records and ticket updates via our helpdesk system (Zendesk)


What We’re Looking For

* Prior experience in IT support or deployment (1-2 years minimum preferred)
* Comfortable working with hardware, both in the office and on client premises
* Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive attitude
* Able to communicate clearly and professionally with clients
* Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks
* A full UK driving licence and your own car (essential for site visits)


Desirable Skills (Not Essential)

* Installing and configuring Windows 11
* Supporting and administering Office 365
* Troubleshooting networking and Internet problems
* Experience using Zendesk or similar helpdesk platforms
* Familiarity with Draytek routers and small business networks
* Knowledge of Windows updates, patching, and endpoint protection solutions
* Previous experience with server backup and recovery processes
