Overview

Join to apply for the Child Sexual Abuse Practitioner role at Brave Futures.

Brave Futures is a well-established charity working across Suffolk and Norfolk. We provide specialist support and a safe place for children and young people up to the age of 21 who have disclosed sexual abuse, along with offering support for siblings and parents/carers. We use an approved programme in order to help our children rebuild their future and move forward with their lives.

We are a multidisciplinary team, with our practitioners coming from a range of backgrounds, including social work, police, education and creative therapy. We work under the direction of our Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead. We support children and young people in one-to-one weekly sessions, as well as holding group sessions throughout the year. We are currently based throughout Suffolk and Norfolk, with our main office in central Ipswich and hubs in Norwich, Lowestoft, Bury St Edmunds, Great Yarmouth and Kings Lynn.

The position will be based in the Waveney area and will involve lone working. Travel to other hubs and offices will be required dependent on the need of incoming referrals. The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level, and/or have extensive experience of working with children. An understanding of the impact of trauma on children, as well as a working knowledge of safeguarding would be desirable. Experience of completing assessments would also be of benefit but not essential as full training will be given.

The available post is for 37 hours per week; however, part time hours will be considered.
