The Opportunity
Forge Talent are working with a high-growth, multi-brand business in Manchester to recruit a Finance Manager into a newly created role to bring Finance in house.
This is a genuine opportunity to build a finance function from scratch, bringing processes in-house from external accountants and then evolving into a key commercial and strategic partner as the business scales.
There are clear ambitions to scale quickly, and this role will play a central part in that journey.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership, build structure from the ground up, and position finance at the heart of decision-making. Longer term, this role offers the opportunity to move beyond reporting into commercial, strategic and funding-related work.
You’ll be joining a 21-person team in a collaborative, co-working environment with a relaxed culture built on trust and accountability.
The Role
Initially, your focus will be on bringing finance in-house and establishing the right foundations.
You will take ownership of:
* Monthly management accounts production
* P&L reporting and analysis
* Balance sheet control and financial integrity
* Cashflow tracking and visibility
* Building and implementing budgeting and forecasting processes
* Establishing reporting frameworks, controls and processes
* Driving financial performance across multiple brands
* Identifying opportunities to improve revenue, margin and efficiency
* Developing KPI reporting and dashboards to support decision-making
* Supporting leadership with strategic planning and commercial decisions
* Contributing to growth initiatives and deal-related activity
* Supporting debt structuring and funding discussions
* Scaling the finance function as the business grows
About You
* Strong experience in management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow
* Background within an SME environment, comfortable working hands-on
* Commercial mindset with the ability to improve performance, not just report it
* Confident working with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions
* Comfortable operating in a standalone / build role
* Proactive and self-sufficient
* Comfortable getting into the detail when required
* Confident asking questions and challenging where needed
* Able to build processes and take ownership from day one
* Someone who wants to grow with the business, not just sit in a role
* Ideally, you will have experience of bringing finance in-house or improving existing processes.
