Job Title: Building Services Mechanical Services Contracts Manager Location: Cirencester, Gloucestershire Salary: £60,000–£65,000 per annum (negotiable, dependent on experience) car allowance Holidays: 25 days per annum Role Overview A leading building services contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Services Contracts Manager to oversee the full project lifecycle of mechanical installation works across a range of commercial and public sector developments. This is a key role with a strong focus on project delivery, commercial control, and technical oversight. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in managing mechanical engineering projects valued at £1.5 million or more, with a background in commercial, industrial, or public sector environments. Strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and project management skills are essential. Responsibilities * Manage mechanical services installation contracts from estimate handover to final account agreement * Procure plant, materials, and subcontractor packages, ensuring best value * Forecast and control spend using purchasing software and Excel-based tools * Analyse labour requirements and manage associated costs * Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and programme adherence * Ensure project delivery aligns with contractual targets * Prepare monthly payment applications and variation costings * Oversee preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements * Monitor Health & Safety compliance for on-site and off-site teams * Prepare regular progress reports for senior management * Liaise with clients, engineers, architects, surveyors, and internal teams * Attend project and technical meetings * Manage multiple concurrent projects effectively * Support tender preparation and bid submissions * Collate project certifications and compile O&M manuals * Respond to client needs and feedback promptly and professionally Key Skills & Requirements * Strong project management experience in mechanical services * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Proven leadership and team management abilities * Commercially astute with budgeting and financial forecasting skills * Methodical and analytical approach to problem-solving * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel * Knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical engineering principles * Familiarity with CAD (beneficial but not essential) * Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build lasting relationships * Highly organised and self-motivated
