MSK Ultrasound Cross Site Lead

The closing date is 14 April 2026

We are looking for an experienced, passionate sonographer to lead our Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultrasound service across Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG). If you have advanced MSK ultrasound knowledge and skills, and are ready to take the lead within this area of ultrasound, we encourage you to join the Ultrasound team at NLAG.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on the role of MSK Cross Site Lead and work within the Humber Health Partnership (HHP), delivering MSK ultrasound services, training and education. Primarily this role includes cross‑site working across the NLAG sites, with an expectation to collaborate closely with colleagues at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) as our partners.

In this crucial role you will be responsible for leading the MSK service across NLAG, setting up an interventional procedures pathway, and overseeing patient referral pathways, quality assurance, and harmonised working within the HHP multidisciplinary team. You will also have a blend of clinical and managerial responsibilities – service improvements, policy development, team management, audit, training and development.

Main duties of the job

Working across sites, your responsibilities will include developing, delivering and enhancing the MSK and associated Interventional Ultrasound Service:

* Upholding safe, effective service delivery within MSK Ultrasound, working closely with Service and Clinical Leads across sites.
* Undertaking a wide variety of MSK ultrasound examinations, ensuring best clinical practice and optimal diagnostic imaging.
* Sharing responsibility for all aspects of the NLAG Ultrasound service with other Sonography Clinical Leads.
* Acting as the NLAG MSK lead, ensuring adherence to standards, providing feedback and support, monitoring quality assurance processes, and ensuring compliance with national standards and guidelines.
* Leading multidisciplinary image review sessions, liaising with Imaging Leads on quality improvement and training outcomes.
* Supervising and supporting the training of staff within the sphere of MSK ultrasound.
* Managing clinical governance, incident reporting and service audit to uphold imaging quality and patient safety.
* Coordinating departmental resources.
* Representing the service at Trust meetings, contributing to strategic planning and service improvement.
* Assisting in overseeing staffing, sickness, appraisals, recruitment, and performance monitoring.
* Ensuring accurate documentation and data entry via hospital IT systems.
