Overview
Renfrewshire Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Senior Facilities Operative (Production Cook) who can demonstrate the necessary skills and experience to deliver a high quality, modern Soft Facilities Management/Catering service.
Responsibilities
* Cook and produce compliant school meals following the Food and Drink in Schools (Scotland) Regulations 21.
* Supervise staff at site level to ensure the catering service is delivered effectively.
* Be willing to undertake training and have previous supervisory experience.
* Apply catering experience in a similar environment and maintain a flexible approach to working hours.
* Work in a customer‑focused environment, communicating effectively with customers and colleagues.
* Maintain literacy, numeracy and IT skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office is desirable.
* Willing to work toward achieving, or already possess, REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.
Qualifications and requirements
* Previous supervisory experience in catering and willingness to undertake training.
* Previous catering experience in a similar environment.
* Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
* Desirable: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Additional information
* Post is temporary, subject to business needs for 6 months or until the requirement ceases.
* Post is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:00–15:00, 52 weeks.
