We’re looking for a retail assistant to join us on a bank contract basis to assist our retail manger, ensuring we are well-stocked, well-presented and that customers receive a consistently high quality of service.

This role will be based at Taurus Crafts in Lydney.
Duties & Responsibilities
Main responsibilities:
* Be committed to customer service and the highest standards of service and presentation.
* Ensure correct procedures are followed in the handling of cash and electronic payment transactions.
* Adhere to policies and procedures for the running of a profitable retail department.
* Be a helpful and supportive team member particularly to people we support.
* Assist with the standard of presentation.
* With colleagues across Taurus Crafts, support the development of a sustainable visitor centre operating with a strong customer focus.
* To comply with the Trust’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding, equality & diversity and data protection.
* To comply with the statutory provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
* Employees must look after their own health, safety and welfare and be mindful of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions. Employees must co-operate and comply with management instructions regarding Health and Safety issues and report all accidents, incidents and problems as soon as practicable to their manager or other senior members of staff where necessary.
* To ensure that confidentiality is respected and maintained at all times.
* To attend and participate in Team Meetings, 1-2-1 Supervision sessions and other meetings as required in line with the post.
* To undertake any other duties which are consistent with this post, as directed by line management.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE in Maths and English desirable.
Knowledge & Experience
* You’ll be used to dealing with members of the public.
* Retail experience desirable.
Personal Attributes
* You will have a natural, caring ability and be keen to support people with learning or other disabilities and enable them to participate in work and society.
* You will need to be physically fit. Some of the work will involve lifting and moving of stock.
* Great communication and customer skills.
* A ‘can do’ attitude to ensure all of our customers receive a good experience.
