About the Role
We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our team at our Bolton Head Office on a 6-month temporary contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone detail-driven, organised and confident working with high volumes of financial data. You will play a key role in supporting accurate revenue recording and ensuring smooth financial operations across allocated schools within the division.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting with the accurate recording of revenue for allocated schools
2. Supporting the raising and posting of invoices to the ledger
3. Assisting with debt collection activities
4. Managing and responding to finance email queries
5. Processing refunds accurately and efficiently
6. Completing monthly cash and bank reconciliations
7. Preparing and processing journals
8. Supporting month-end processes to ensure accounts are completed in a timely manner
9. Assisting in the preparation of audit packs prior to submission to auditors
10. Working closely with the Shared Service Centre to resolve queries
11. Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc projects
Experience, Skills & Qualification
12. Experience of query management and resolution
13. Highly numerate with strong attention to detail when handling financial data
14. Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
15. Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Mathematics and English
16. Professional demeanour with a positive, flexible attitude
17. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
18. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
19. Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
20. Proactive approach with good initiative
21. Previous finance experience is desirable but not essential.
