ABOUT THE ROLE
I am an 18-year-old young man looking for kind, caring, patient and dedicated individuals to support me within my family home environment. I have complex health care needs and require full time support during the day and night. I value stability in my care arrangements, ensuring my needs are met with minimal disruption.
I enjoy trips out, cinema visits, parks, motorbikes, music and cooking. I thrive in a calm and positive environment with people who understand and respond well to my non-verbal communication.
This is a rewarding and varied role where the successful candidate will provide high-quality personal care and support tailored to my needs. Due to the complexity of care involved, full specialist training will be provided, and I am seeking someone committed to becoming a long-standing member of the team.
The ideal person for this role will have a genuinely caring nature, be respectful, patient, and flexible in adapting to the way I like and need to be supported. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn are key. Youll be guided by my family and established staff team so being a strong team player is essential.
On a day to day, youll support me with all aspects of personal care and complex care support, including managing a complex medication regime, supporting with Mic-Key GJ feeding tube care, and assisting with epilepsy and dystonia care related to cerebral palsy.
The role will also involve maintaining accurate records and documentation, undertaking regular training competency updates and carrying out light household duties relevant to the role. There may be occasions where support is required within a hospital setting.
Close communication with my parents, colleagues and healthcare professionals will be essential.
Most importantly, Im looking for someone who will treat my home with respect and see this role as more than just a job its about working together to support my well-being and quality of life. If youre someone who truly wants to make a difference and be part of something meaningful, Id love to hear from you.
ABOUT YOU
You genuinely care about making a positive difference in someones life. Youre caring, patient, reliable and calm when under pressure, with the ability to remain organised and flexible to changing needs.
You will need to have excellent communication skills and be observant to subtle changes and non-verbal cues. A relaxed personality and a good sense of humour are essential, along with the ability to work comfortably within a family home environment and around friendly dogs.
Experience supporting individuals with complex medical needs is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.
Car drivers with a full, clean driving license are essential, and candidates must meet the requirements for motor insurance purposes.
Due to my healthcare needs I am looking for non-smokers.
