Overview
Buckinghamshire Libraries are looking for a Library Resources Assistant (weekend) to join our friendly team in the Amersham Area based at Amersham Library. We are seeking people who share our focus on customer service and who would enjoy engaging people with services that can enrich their lives.
The salary advertised is the grade level for the role, the salary for this role will be pro-rata to 3 hours per week, 12pm - 4pm.
About us
Buckinghamshire Libraries are responsible for delivering a modern library service through 29 libraries to communities throughout the county, using a mixed model of staffed, volunteer-supported and volunteer-led community libraries.
We are currently in the process of launching Library Flex,an enhanced out-of-hours service which will allow library users self-service access to facilities in 8 of our county libraries in addition to a regular staffed service.
About the role
This is a customer-facing role which will require you to be present at a specific site location each day.
This role will involve working as part of a library group across multiple sites, so applicants must be willing and able to work at multiple locations. Amersham Library will be the typical location, but there will also be an occasional need for travel to other libraries within Buckinghamshire to provide relief cover.
This is a part-time role of 4 hours per week. The working pattern is as follows:

As part of this role, you will:
1. Directly deliver library services to customers and resolve enquiries relating to library loans, digital services, computer use, and signposting to council services under the library’s role as a Council Access Point.
2. Support a team of dedicated volunteers to serve library users and maintain the library collections.
Fixed
As a ‘fixed’ worker, you’ll spend most of your time in the same location, which will likely be a fixed office or location where your role is performed. Typically, you’ll be based in the same location as the rest of your team, because you provide a particular service from that fixed location or need access to information there.
