Overview
Marine Water Quality Officer – 32656 at Environment Agency. The role supports the team that monitors and models marine water quality to inform evidence‑based decisions across key coastal and industrial catchments.
Responsibilities
* Review technical reports and summarise key information for decision‑making.
* Interpret monitoring data and model outputs to support environmental protection.
* Summarise and communicate technical work and escalation challenges when needed.
* Build strong relationships across a dispersed team, with external partners and customers.
* Contribute to incident response duties, receiving full training and support.
Qualifications
* Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (water quality, marine science, environmental engineering, or related field).
* Experience in data analysis and knowledge of modelling software (Excel, Power BI, GIS, R, or specialist packages such as Mike or Cormix).
* Strong communication skills – able to convey complex technical information to non‑technical audiences.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a virtual, dispersed team and to build relationships with external partners.
* Comfortable with occasional travel for national meetings.
