Job Description Position: Warehouse Operative Location: Manchester Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday Friday) Contract: Permanent Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Reporting To: Warehouse Supervisor / Manager Direct Reports: None Job Purpose To support the smooth running of the warehouse operation by carrying out a variety of tasks including goods receipt, storage, order picking, packing, and dispatch. The Warehouse Operative will ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, accurately, and in line with company standards for safety and quality. Key Responsibilities Receive, check, and store incoming goods. Pick and pack orders accurately for dispatch. Load and unload deliveries in line with H&S procedures. Maintain accurate records of stock movements using warehouse management systems. Carry out regular stock checks and cycle counts. Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and organised. Operate handling equipment (e.g., pallet trucks, forklifts if licensed). Follow all company health & safety policies and procedures. Work collaboratively with colleagues across warehouse and logistics teams. Person Specification Skills & Experience Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment desirable but not essential. Good organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. Basic IT skills (for stock systems and reporting). Forklift licence would be an advantage but not required. Personal Attributes Reliable, punctual, and hardworking. Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities. Strong focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines. Safety-conscious and proactive in maintaining standards.
