?? Job Opportunity: Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) – Manchester City Council ??
Location: Hybrid (Manchester-based)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: £16.89/hour
About the Role:
We’re looking for a qualified and experienced Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to join our dedicated team within the Adults Safeguarding Service. You’ll provide high-quality, trauma-informed support to survivors of domestic abuse, ensuring their safety and promoting independence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Initial contact, risk assessment (DASH RIC), and safety planning
* Crisis intervention, including housing, legal remedies, and target hardening
* Advocacy and representation at MARAC
* Coordinating referrals and safeguarding actions
* Building strong internal and external pathways with services like Women’s Aid, SARC, ISVA, and others
Requirements:
* IDVA qualification or proven experience in an IDVA role
* Experience supporting survivors through MARAC, legal systems, and housing pathways
* Enhanced DBS required
* CAADA training (or willingness to complete)
